A Real Stickler

He's only happy when it rainsAnother great episode of Lost tonight, but it still leaves a big question (of course I have questions, it is Lost). Before Jack left his hospital, did they surgically insert a giant stick up his ass? That is the only thing I can see that would explain why he is some annoyingly holier-than-thou.

Now give my post the other day about spoilers, I'd suggest not reading any further if you haven't seen the episode. With that out of the way, I've gotta say that after Anna Lucia, Jack has got to be my least favourite of the castaways.

Ok, daddy was a tyrannical drunk and a philanderer, he's clearly got a full-on god complex and his wife cheated on him before hitting the road. Believe me, the last one makes me quite sympathetic, but I don't see where he gets off ordering everybody about. I guess I'm more of a Locke man myself.

Loved the return of the Others as well. I already like Zeke and they suggest so many more mysteries. They've kidnapped, used force, but they've only taken those that they've said are worthy. If we are to believe them, Walt is safe and sound. Are they a force of good or evil? Are they castaways like the Oceanic group or are they part of the experiment/tribulation that they are being put through? Does this rabbit hole have no bottom? If it does, I hope we don't get to it anytime soon.

  1. Oh my god, Jack has got to be one of the most annoying characters on prime time tv right now. Seriously. I wanted to slap him SO hard when he told Kate not to follow them. And even though she got caught, I still thought "good for you!" when she followed them anyway. Just anything to stick it to Jack... but she went on to ruin it by apologizing. Why did she apologize?! If he'd just agreed to that she could come along as well, she wouldn't have had to sneak around behind their backs (as you can see, I have issues with authority ;) ).

It was a good episode in the sense that we got to see more of what makes Jack the way he is, a big type A control freak with a huge stick up his bee-hind and I get it, we see what makes him what he is, but it's still not an excuse to act like someone with a huge god complex. But hey, he's a surgeon so at least that fits the character.

Also, am I the only one who thinks that given enough time (and if someone doesn't kill him) Jack's going to end up creating his little own kingdom? I mean, he's SO going for that. He hates when he loses or when someone tells him what to do and now he is just pissed and wants to stick it to the Others with ... training an army?! Yeah, I'm sure we're going to see some bonding between Anna Lucia and Jack as they plan for a coo of some kind.

I'm rooting for some more funny snark between Kate and Sawyer, love those two. Jack, I could do without.
